Andante's Story
Furrari's Kittens Scrapbook

Here is the story of Andante, a feline version of "The Ugly Duckling"

If he had entered the world with wings and feathers, Andante would probably have earned the “Ugly Duckling Award".  See, he was not flashy! He did not have spots, and he did not have the marble  twirling designs that everyone wanted.

When he was born, he did not have the gorgeous spectacular patterns and colors like his other siblings in the litter. His sister "Tiggi" has enormous gorgeous bold spots. His brothers Mario and Dude had the flashy patterns, and even his sister Hush Puppy looked elegant.  But, Andante?

(3-days old)

Half Moon, 2 weeks old He just looked plain. Plain and simple! In fact, the only little patterns were two little markings on each side, which earned him his nickname of "Half-Moon".  These two white shapes looked like little half moons (well more like itty-bitty, tiny new moons), on each  side, and he was not spotted. Poor Andante! He looked like a half-baked attempt  of a marble pattern forgotten. Other than the small white shapes, his markings did not have the pizzazz everyone wanted.
Andante was one of five kittens born to Furrari on November 5, 2004. As with the rest of his siblings, he too was destined to find a sweet loving home where someone would take him in a love him forever.

He had a magnetic charming personality, and by the time he was 4 weeks old he was absolutely enchanting. He could be silly one minute, wildly chasing toys the next minute, and if we wanted to pick him and hug him the next minute, he would fall asleep in our arms like a baby.

Now, as interested buyers inquired about available kittens in his litter, Andante seemed to be overlooked. If anyone mentioned Andante, the response was always that they were looking for something "with more color".

Although he was the biggest in the litter, and showed great promises of having a fabulous Bengal confirmation, he just did not have the color that buyers were trying to find.

We kept telling people that the marbles take a while to really fill in to show their magnificent tri-color patterns. We even posted by his pictures that the marble Bengal patterns will keep opening up until they are adults. But it seemed like no one was listening!

(4 months old)

Poor Andante! He would sit for hours on the laptop waiting for an email from someone who wanted him. It seemed like no one wanted to buy him.  It seemed as if he would be the litter reject!

But then something amazing happened....  Click here to continue
